Frenay & Lenin notes
Frenay & Lenin - Summer 2026
A few thoughts as Arty & I approach our 49th year together. So many of you who have supported us for years continue to do so, and that means a lot to us. We love playing music together, or we wouldn’t still be doing it. But what we love even more, is seeing all of our friends again, and that sense of community we have with all of you. Thank you so much for that.
A few highlights I want to emphasize:
• Our Friday evening dates at Rosalie’s in Skaneateles are some of our favorite gigs of the summer. Just a perfect setting on their patio. Call for reservations.
• Our summer FabCats schedule is less than usual, but still covers the north, south, east & west sides of CNY. Pull up a canvas chair and join us!
• Another newish venue for us is Anyela’s Winery in Skaneateles. The setting is so picturesque. And with wood-fired pizza and wine, what’s not to love?!
• And lastly, we want to remember our Flashcubes’ bandmate Paul Armstrong, who died on April 20. We are still stinging from the loss and will take part in organizing, and performing at, a memorial concert in his honor sometime this fall. In the meantime, his obituary and funeral plans are here:
And my own personal memories of him are in this blogpost:
If any of the dates listed below are close to you, please come out and say hi. As the years roll on, there are less and less opportunities for us all to convene. And I think we all need that connection.
Happy Syracuse Summer!
